Comments from our International Judges
gA wine competition is only as good as the judges
who judge the wines. Thanks to the panels of International Winemakers,
consultants and Masters of Wine tasting alongside the best palates
from the Japanese Industry, the results of the Japan WINE Challenge
carry authority both in Japan and around the worldh Steven

Japanese Wine Judges
As well as the 14 international wine judges flying in from 10 countries,
the Japan WINE Challenge is very proud to have a selection of the leading
Japanese sommeliers, wine educators and wine journalists. The contingent
of local judges is also eligible to participate in the Master of Wine
seminars that the Japan WINE Challenge hosts, as well as to compete
for the prestigious Madame Bollinger Foundation Award for the Best Japanese
Wine Judge. The winner is sponsored to attend the Institute of Masters
of Wine residential summer school in Melbourne the following January.
This year will be the 6th time this prize will be offered.
