The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 11 Cell Block Chardonnay 2013 won two trophies at the Japan Wine Challenge: Trophy for Best New World White Wine and Trophy for Best of Show. We are incredibly proud to receive these two highly acclaimed trophies. This is a single vineyard wine sourced from a vineyard within the lower Wairau Valley. The soil here has many available minerals refl ected in the ʻsaltyʼ character on the palate. Full bodied and flavoursome with fresh tropical fruit and a hint of toast oak, the wine fi nishes with great intensity. Trophies such as this combined with consistent show success across a range of international wine shows has assisted Saint Clair to becoming a leading New Zealand wine producer.
