BETTANE & DESSEAUVE
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve are two respected wine critics from France. The pair have worked together for many years, notably as editors of La Revue du Vins de France. They left La Revue in 2004 to work for a rival publication, Le Classement des Meilleurs Vins de France, and now run their own website, mybettanedesseauve.fr. Bettane regularly writes for Decanter magazine and French national newspaper Le Monde, while Desseauve is a former president of France's wine writers and journalists association, the AFJEV.
Wine & Spirits Educational Trust
Established by the Wine and Spirit trade in 1969, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust has an unparalleled track record in the design and delivery of wine and spirit education. Today, the WSET is the largest global provider of education in wine and spirits with over 56,000 examination candidates per annum, in 62
countries and 18 different languages. The Shogun Japan Spirits Competition and WSET are delighted to announce their partnership to develop Spirits education and understanding in Japan. Antony Moss MW is a WSET Certified Educator with specific responsibility for developing the Spirits education arm of WSET both in Japan and internationally.
RIEDEL
Riedel is the pre-eminent producer of glassware for the wine and spirits industry internationally. Riedel has been a partner of the Japan Wine Challenge and International Sake Challenge since they were started. Riedel organised in 2017 with our top Sake professionals a tasting featuring different styles of Sake tasting glasses, which will result in the forthcoming production of a new Riedel Sake tasting glass. We are delighted to announce the partnership between the Shogun Japan Spirits Competition and Riedel to promote greater appreciation of Spirits tasting techniques by the Japan trade and consumer.
